ICF World Dragon Boat Club Crews held at Marilyn Bell Park
July 21, 22, 23 and 24
What a wonderful experience to have paddled at this event!
To be the only BCS team didn't matter as we paddled with world class teams and our performance showed that we can paddle with the best!!!
There are so many moments that I will hold in my heart....as there are for each of the women that paddled that weekend....here are but a few:
* After our first race having the German crew (Drag Attack) asked us to trade our t-shirts!
* Having the announcer ask each team to stand up to recognize our team for our tenacity, courage and athleticism!
* Stan telling us we look better and paddle better than any other crew!
* Having Doctor Don Mackenzie give us our silver medal!
* Paddling for the first time in the tippy 10-person boat for a 200m and coming in SECOND!!
* Stan always working on the line-up, making sure each DA member got to paddle her heart out!
* Drumming for Boat 2 in the tippy 10-person boat for the 500m and seeing how each paddler gave her all!
* Two brave and fierce Newbies, Sydney and Linda, who were part of this!
* Stan crying after a race and then saying it was too early in the day to start crying!
Whew! Lots of sun, paddling, friendship and FUN!!! Thank you so much Stan....you made us feel AWESOME!!!!!
